The Lodge Sweetheart represents our Lodge in a variety of functions. The Sweetheart Fund benefits Texas Elks Children Service, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization which funds the Texas Elks Camp. Visit the Texas Elks State Association to learn more about how TECSI benefits children with special needs throughout Texas.

Sweetheart Report for February 2008

February is the month for Sweethearts. I hope that you take a moment to think of how you can "gift" your Lodge Sweetheart and Texas Elks Children's Services this month

We will be having a "Sweetheart Can Shake" on Saturday, February 9th from 9 am - 4 pm at a location to be determined. Please contact me if you are willing to donate a few hours of your time collecting funds in our community.

Do you have a favorite recipe for sweets? I am still accepting your favorite tried and true cookie, candy, cake, pie or other dessert recipe. Bring it to the lodge or email it to austinsweetheart@gmail.com if you would like it included in a special edition "Austin Sweets" cookbook. Proceeds from the cookbook will benefit the Sweetheart Fund, and a Bake-off and Auction will be held soon with prizes to be awarded to the winner! Stay tuned for details.

Eeyore's 45th Annual Birthday Party will be held Saturday, April 26th at Pease Park. A children's area will be set up from 11 am to 4 pm, and there will also be games and costume contests. This annual fundraiser benefits local non-profits, as each non-profit organization sets up a food booth. To benefit the Sweetheart Fund we will be selling bratwurst wraps, and chips, so let me know if you can help!
